finding beauty in the everyday...

This is my first "finding beauty in the everyday" post. I am a strong believer in this little phrase, and I try to live by it. It is indeed the small things, the 'everyday' things that make life so special. I would like to make this a weekly blog post for me and for you. To help us remember to find the loveliness in the most minute of things. If we can do this simple task, maybe just maybe, it will make our smiles a little longer, our days a little brighter, and us a little more grateful.

Fall is here and soon all the wonderful green leaves will turn brilliantly colorful, then shrivel and die. It is somewhat of a sad thought, or maybe it isn't.

This cheery sunflower with its bright yellow petals and it's strong green stem can't help but make me think of a sunny summer day full of picnics and kite flying. It's beauty is obvious and undeniable.

Then there is this withered sunflower, muted in color. Though its warm tones and sporadic petals make it interesting and unusual. It's textures are endearing. Its beauty is understated and humbling. It's not trying too hard to be beautiful, but instead it quietly allures.

I don't know about you, but when I was planning my wedding
a few months ago I loved finding new and unique ideas to
add a little something special to my wedding day, especially
if they were cheap!
