Oh blog it has been so long. How I've missed you.

Oct. 10th was my husband and I's 2 year anniversary. 2 years, already!? I can hardly believe it.
The 2nd anniversary is the cotton anniversary, and we are trying to give gifts that relate in some way to whatever anniversary theme it is. It gives us a little bit of a challenge and we must think creatively when buying our gifts for each other. I like the challenge! :)

I made Brant a cork board map, where we can pin our adventures as a married couple. One of my many Pinterest ideas. Here is the link...

And here's it is...

Brant got creative too. He got me an antique gold cameo necklace from Etsy. The pink color on the necklace is called "cotton candy pink" :) I love it! He knows me so well.
I also loved this because at our wedding reception we had a cotton candy machine and it was a hit! Especially for the kids at heart :)

I love the vintage style hook.

Also, I surprised Brant with a small cake that resembled our cake topper. We were never able to eat our cake topper because it wasn't wrapped right, so it tasted like freezer. The fine people at Cake, Hope & Love recreated it for us and it was delicious! Butter cream icing and red velvet cake, just like our wedding cake. If you haven't been to Cake, Hope and Love yet, you really need to, they are the best!
We sat down and flipped through our wedding album while we ate it's

We stayed in the Hyatt in downtown Columbus and had an amazing view!

We had dinner at Buca di Beppo. yum!

The next day we went to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. It was amazing ice cream! I so wish we had one in Dayton. I also love the way it is decorated, too cute!

It was a lovely fall afternoon on High St.

the end.

hoop art

i decided to make these oh so lovely & very easy pieces of art today. i got the idea a while back, when i found these embroidery hoops at a local thrift store. i think they were 99 pennies for two.
i bought the fabric at joann's for 99 pennies a piece.

iron fabric.

loosen the screw to separate the two hoops. place smaller hoop under fabric and place larger hoop on top of the fabric.

push larger hoop down over top smaller hoop.

tighten the screw to hold in place.

flip over.

cut excess fabric.

ready to hang.

randomly place your nails in the wall for them to hang and you are done.
I love mixing the different colors, I want to add some more later :)

canvases

(The photos below were not taken by Ashley Lynn Photography and are just example photos of products that Ashley Lynn Photography offers. Photos are from WHCC.)

Metallic and Lustre photographic paper are available with three laminate options, and custom sizes between 8x8 and 40x60. Gallery Wraps arrive complete and ready to hang on the wall the moment they are received.

Papers Types:
Gallery Wraps are available printed on a Metallic or Lustre Photographic Paper using a traditional canvas process. Metallic and Lustre paper Gallery Wraps enhance the look and vibrancy of your image. With photographic print gallery wraps, an actual photographic print is created and its emulsion is stripped, bonded to canvas and wrapped around the wood frame.

Construction:
Gallery Wraps are made with real wood and are 1-1/2". All gallery wraps include a matte, semi-gloss, or high gloss laminate to protect the gallery wrap from scuffs, scratches, and cracking. The laminate also provides UV light protection. Framing paper covers the back of the gallery wrap with metal hangers and corner bumpers. Your gallery wrap will be ready to hang on the wall the minute it arrives.

prints

Prints are created with printers that expose light sensitive paper that is then run through a chemical process. These are real photographs, not inkjet prints. Prints are made on Kodak Professional Endura Papers. Three paper types are available, Lustre, Glossy & Metallic. Metallic paper gives your prints a unique metallic appearance and a very modern look. It makes your color images really pop and will make your black and white images very dramatic. It almost looks as though your photo was printed on metal.

There are two different mounting options available for your prints, mat board & standouts. Standouts give a more contemporary look, with its thick, lightweight, finished edges. Standouts also come ready to hang, without a frame. Standouts are available in 3/4 inch. or 1 1/2 inch depths. Standouts are made from lightweight foam banded with a sleek black edge.

Acrylic is used in the frames instead of glass. This is a better alternative to using glass because of the following...

-Acrylic is many times stronger than glass, making it much more impact resistant and safer.

-It is very light, only weighing half as much as glass.

-It has a transparency rate of 93% making it the clearest material known.

-It will not discolor, turn brittle, or crack due to age.

-It is a bit more susceptible to scuffs and scratching than glass, but such abrasions can be buffed out of acrylic.
